Argh. The water main coming off of the city meter is leaking yet again. The plumber came out around two weeks ago and re-crimped the connection which seemed to work at the time, but this evening while I was out in the yard (again) I noticed that it was once again sopping wet around the meter box. And seeing as how it was not that way this morning while I was out working in that area it looks like the plumber will have to come back out. I did check, and it isn't leaking fast enough to be turning the meter which is good. I sent another email to the builder and will call them tomorrow afternoon if I haven't heard back from them by then.
Feel free to skip this if you are getting sick of hearing about plants and such.
I ordered my mom flowers for mother's day. Not just flowers though, I got her a pretty planter full of Lily of the Valley. They smell good and I think they will grow in the garden out there...I hope so anyway. There was a gardenia plant, but it won't grow outside there. It is too cold.
This afternoon I will finish planting the three spirea (Bridal Wreath Spirea - they grow in a fabulous arch off of a vase shaped base and get to be 6-7 feet tall and wide when fully grown) that I bought this past weekend. Luckily, for now, I will only need to dig up one little shrub in front of my bedroom window to make way for the spirea that will be going there instead. Eventually, all the shrubs there will be moved, but for now, I absolutely HAVE to get the new plants into the ground.
I am sad. I just got the email notice today that Clyde's HomeAgain microchip service is up for renewal on the 25th. He still hasn't been found or come home and I am more convinced than ever that a wild animal got him. It is heartbreaking to me. Right now, the ultra-hopeful side of me is contemplating extending his service one more year - "just in case". But the more realistic side of me says that it would be a waste of money.
We all went to the dog park yesterday. There are several tennis balls that are laying around to throw for the dogs - there is also water available which is fantastic! Marly LOVES to fetch..Neil got some photos taken yesterday that are much better than my recent shots of her.
Unfortunately, we also discovered that kids have to be 12 or older to be in the dog park, so we had to cut our trip short. Luckily, Beth had decided to hang out with the dogs for awhile while Neil and Chloe and I went and ran some errands, so the dogs did get some good play time in. Now we know and next time we will go to the lake where Chloe can be with us too.Trivia for anyone who cares...Cinco de Mayo is not Mexico's independence day. It is instead, the celebration of Mexico's first victory over the French. Their independence day is actually September 16.
As soon as this con call is over I am done for the day. Whew. What a week...and this call is a joke.
I am still in small town, nowhere PA. This morning what to my wondering eye did appear? Snow! (There may as well have been reindeer too with as shocked as I was.) Tomorrow it is supposed to be 65 here. Go figure.
I am back in PA. This time in the Western part of the state...a couple hours outside of Pittsburgh. It is amazing to me how dilapidated this entire area is.

Haha! I love it! My problem is that a) cut flowers simply fade too fast and b) my mom's cats... read more
